interesting facts: 1. the destroyed satellite generated over 1,500 pieces of trackable debris plus hundreds of thousands of smaller pieces of debris. 2. the seven astronauts aboard the iss had to take quick shelter in their respective return vehicles (soyuz and dragon). 3. the u.s. has labeled this russian test as reckless and irresponsible, endangering current and future human space travel as well as jeopardizing the future of safe space travel. 4. the iss passes by the cloud of debris on every 90 minute orbit around the earth.
